Arc Smart Seal https://arcbuildingproducts.ie/arc-smart-seal/ Thu, 18 May 2023 08:11:52 +0000 https://arcbuildingproducts.ie/?p=5502

Arc Smart Seal – For waterproofing around baths & shower trays.

  • 100% Waterproof
  • 3-ply flexible sealing tape
  • With self-adhesive butyl strip

Suggested Installation:

1. Thoroughly clean, degrease & roughen the sides of the shower tray or bath tub.
2. Remove the release foil from the butyl strip 100mm at a time. Install the Smart Seal with the butyl strip on the bottom. Align the top of the butyl strip with the top
edge of the shower tray or bath tub and press firmly by hand. Install the Smart Seal as one piece, avoiding seams and when applying around corners, pinch the Smart Seal to allow extra material in the corners aiding subsequent tiling.
3. Position the shower tray or bath tub and bond the fleece upstand to the wall
using a suitable sealant, tanking paste or adhesive.
4. Smart Seal will accept tanking paste, membranes or tile adhesive without the need for a primer.

Arc MagnaBoards https://arcbuildingproducts.ie/arc-magnaboards/ Fri, 15 Oct 2021 13:59:50 +0000 https://arcbuildingproducts.ie/?p=4852
High performance building boards, offering innovative, sustainale and effective building solutions for new-build, renovation and restoration projects

Arc MagnaBoards are fire rated to A1, unaffected by water, moisture & humidity, durable & impact resistant, sound & heat insulating, lightweight and easy to install.

Unlike plasterboard and plywood, Arc MagnaBoards will not physically deteriorate, swell or buckle when subjected to water or moisture making them the perfect wall or floor tiling substrate in areas subject to water, moisture and humidity.

Arc MagnaBoards are non-combustible and have an A1 Fire Rating making them ideal for use as internal fire resistant wall & ceiling boards or where heat resistance is required such as around stoves and boilers.

Arc MagnaBoards can be easily utilised as internal wall cladding, on stud frames, as wall partitions or in ceiling and prefab construction.

The boards are suitable for external use but should have a final waterproof finish applied such as a waterproof external render or coating.

Arc MagnaBoards will accept a variety of finishes such as tiles, wallpaper, plaster, paint and render.

Magna Boards are available in 1200x600mm, 1200x1200mm and 2400x1200mm sizes, 6mm or 12mm thick.

New InterLinx 3GG Decoupling Membrane https://arcbuildingproducts.ie/new-interlinx-3gg-decoupling-membrane/ Mon, 30 Mar 2020 08:27:11 +0000 https://arcbuildingproducts.ie/?p=3403

InterLinx 3GG is a unique decoupling and waterproofing membrane for use on problematic substrates such as recently laid concrete floors & screeds, timber floors and underfloor heating installations. The membrane absorbs lateral stresses and cracks protecting the tile installation from cracking and debonding. Suitable for both internal and external applications.

The unique top and bottom fleece layers allow stronger adhesion between the adhesive and the membrane while transferring moisture away allowing the adhesive to cure faster. The fleece layers are heat bonded ensuring secure and durable anchoring.

The centre LDPE layer is extremely soft making it easier to lay without curling at the ends which occurs with other stiff HDPE based membranes. The dimples are easily filled with adhesive in a single trowel action.

When used in conjunction with Arc Tanking Tape, the membrane can be used as a waterproof sealing membrane.

Decoupling

Absorbs substrate stresses protecting the tile installation

Moisture Control

The hydrophile fleece removes moisture allowing faster cure

Heat Bonded

Heat bonded layers ensure secure & durable anchoring

Soft Inner Layer

Membrane rolls out flat
with no curling

Easy Application

Dimples are filled in a
single stroke

Waterproof

New Tilers Primer Plus https://arcbuildingproducts.ie/new-tilers-primer-plus/ Wed, 21 Nov 2018 13:04:31 +0000 https://arcbuildingproducts.ie/?p=3197
  • Provides a textured grit finish to difficult substrates before tiling
  • Ready mixed & ready to use
  • Solvent-free formulation
  • DESCRIPTION Arc Tilers Primer Plus is a solvent-free, ready mixed primer for both absorbent and non-absorbent substrates. It provides a textured grit finish enhancing the bond between tile adhesives and/or levelling compounds and the substrate below. It can be tiled or levelled over after 90 minutes on absorbent surfaces and 2 hours on non-absorbent surfaces, depending on site conditions and temperatures. Suitable for both internal and external applications. Arc Tilers Primer Plus can be used on most substrates including:
    · Existing ceramic & porcelain tiles · Existing natural stone tiles · Steel/metal surfaces
    · Sand/cement screed · Concrete · Plywood
    · Underfloor heating · Tile backer boards · Anhydrite screeds
    · Flooring grade asphalt & bitumen · Plaster · Plasterboard
    · Fibre cement sheets · Sand/cement render · Concrete brick/block
    · Existing vinyl tiles · Fibreglass · Green screed

PREPARATION All surfaces must be sound and free from dust, dirt, grease, oil and any other contaminants. Any laitance or treatments must be removed. Concrete, plaster, sand/cement screeds, anhydrite screeds and power floated concrete must be fully cured before application. Temperature of the substrate must be above 5°C. Underfloor heating systems must be switched off 24 hours before application. Timber and over-boarded substrates must be rigidly braced and strong enough to take the expected loading. For specific preparation instructions by substrate type; please refer to the technical data sheet. APPLICATION Product is supplied ready to use but should be stirred well before use to ensure an even distribution of the aggregate. Once mixed, use straight from the tub or use a roller tray. Apply the primer evenly with a brush or roller over the entire surface. Do not allow to pond or do not apply in thick layers. Allow the primer to become touch dry before applying adhesive or leveller. This will take between 15-60 minutes depending on the temperature and porosity of the substrate. The primer should be diluted 1:1 with water when applying to absorbent surfaces. Wash tools immediately after application with warm water. Not suitable for application on soft bituminous materials or painted walls. Not suitable for use with solvent based adhesives. Substrates must be strong enough to hold tiles. HEALTH & SAFETY Contains 5-Chloro-2-methyl-2-isothazol-3-one,2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one,1,2-Benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one,. May produce an allergic reaction. Coverage: On smooth, non-absorbent substrates, the primer will cover at a rate of 50g per m². As much as 250g per m² may be required for very absorbent substrates. Storage: Store in sealed container in dry conditions, protect from temperature extremes. Shelf life: 12 months in unopened container ]]>
